Walton Hills, Ohio - Around Town

Walton Hills Citizens League

The Citizens' League was organized in 1963 by a group of civic-minded Villagers who believed that everyone
should contribute and be interested in good government. All adult Village residents are eligible and are encouraged
to become a member at nominal annual dues. Important issues and topics are discussed in a non-partisian,
professional manner at regular meetings. Guest speakers are welcome to present information on interesting
subjects. Our goal is to assist the democratic process through education by keeping our electorate well informed,
while promoting Civic Pride.

An annual Candidate Night Forum* is hosted by the Citizens' League in the Village prior to the November elections.

The Citizens' League also inaugurated a program to honor Village residents so as to recognize and acknowledge
one of Walton Hills very special residents, who has unselfishly given their time and talents for the enrichment
of this community. The Citizens' League seeks out nominations of worthy individuals beginning in May each year.
The individual selected will then receive the prestigious "Citizen of the Year" award * during the Community Day
Celebration in August.

Over the last three years on the second Sunday in July at T.G. Young Park. The Citizens' League has hosted a benefit
Classic Car Show* for the MetroHealth Foundations Burn Center.*
