The Walton Hills Service Department is currently staffed by five (5) full time and two (2) part time employees.
Full time employees include: the Street Commissioner, Assistant Street Commissioner, auto mechanic and
two skilled workers.
The Service Department's responsibilities include maintaining all Village infrastructures such as roads, bridges,
buildings, land, vehicles and equipment, sewer systems and public right of way property throughout the
seven square mile Village boundaries.
The department's personnel provide outstanding service to the residents through our curbside brush
chipping and leaf pick up programs, 24 hour snow removal, storm and catch basin repairs, sanitary sewer
system and lift station maintenance. Event set up duties for Village administration and numerous Village
club functions, pavement repairs, landscaping and grass cutting maintenance of the public right of way and
traffic control signage upkeep throughout the Village.
The Service Department is also the lead Village agency in monitoring and implementing other services
such as; curbside rubbish and recycling removal, Senior Snowplowing and lawn care programs, holiday
displays and functions, drainage issues and are first responders to all emergency situations throughout
the Village on a 24/7 basis.

Egbert Road Water Main Replacement
On Monday, January 30, crews began work on the Egbert Road Water Main Replacement project. It is anticipated that work will continue through the month of May in order to complete the project. The new water main installation has started near the Dunham Road intersection, and will continue along the entire length of Egbert Road all the way to the Bedford/Walton Hills border. We ask the motorists please drive carefully near any construction zones. We thank you in advance for your cooperation as the Village continues to work to maintain our roadways and utilities.
 
2012 Cuyahoga County Solid Waste Special Programs:
PROGRAM DATES TO BE ANNOUNCED AT A LATER TIME.
All items, with the exception of the phone books, can be dropped off at the Service Center located at
6800 Dunham Road
on the collection dates between the hours of 8:00 am - 3:30 pm. Click on the program

Because the County does not accept latex paint, the following video will show you how to properly dispose of

Rubbish Collection:
- All rubbish must be out no earlier than 6:00 pm the day before and no later than 7:00 am on pick-up day. The following Holidays are observed by our rubbish hauler and pick-up will be moved back one day: New Years Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
Recycling- Curbside:
- Collected with your regular rubbish.
Recycling- Paper:
- Two containers located at Village Hall.
Tree Trimmings:
- Please have your tree trimmings set out no later than 8:00 am on Monday mornings. The Service Department will chip on Mondays. If the collection is not completed on Monday, pick-up will resume on Tuesday.
Requirements for the chipper:
- No stumps, no roots with dirt, no foreign matter, nothing larger than 8 (eight) inches in diameter. Cut “Y” shaped branches in two. No firewood, no logs less than 4 (four) feet long. Separate small from large branches and face the cut end of branches toward the road.
Leaf Pick-up:
- Place leaves on tree lawn from October 1st through November 30th.
Wood Chips:
- Delivered free to residents, call the Village Hall at 440-232-7800 to make the necessary arrangements.
