SEAL/CART UNIT
This notice is to advise the SEAL Cart Unit (Child Abduction Response Team) will being conducting its
mandatory yearly exercise on 05/18/2013 from 9:00 am to approximately 5:00 Pm. This year’s training
will be held in the Village of Walton Hills. The Training for the most part will be in the area of TGY Park
and Dellwood Drive but may extend to other isolated areas. The Village Community Room will be used
as a staging area for all support personnel. Residents are advised TGY Park and the community room will
be closed to all other activities during this time. Vehicular travel on Dellwood Drive will be limited to
local traffic only. Residents should expect and not become alarmed upon seeing multiple police and fire
personnel along with outside civilian volunteer groups including K-9 search and rescue teams. This is an
exercise only and at no time will anyone’s safety be endangered. The Walton Hills Police Department
would like to thank the public for it cooperation and patience in advance as this very important exercise

Dear Friends of Cuyahoga Valley National Park,
We are pleased to announce the release of the Final Trail Management Plan and Environmental Impact
Statement (FEIS) for the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. The US Environmental Protection Agency Notice of Availability (NOA) for the FEIS issued May 3 2013 in the Federal Register, officially begins the 30 day no action period before the Record of Decision can be issued.
The purpose of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park Trail Management Plan is to develop a blueprint that will guide the expansion,restoration,managementoperations and use of the trail system, and its associated amenities while keeping with the mission and significance of the Park over the next 15 years.
The FEIS responds to the public comments received on the Draft Trail Management Plan and EIS
received during the June 21, 2012 and August 20, 2012 comment period. The FEIS evaluated eight alternatives for trail management within Cuyahoga Valley National Park, with Alternative 5 as the
preferred alternative. For information on the wide range ofcomments received and our responses to those
comments please refer to Appendix D of the Final plan.
The FEIS is available electronically on the NPS Planning Environment and Public Comment (PEPC)web site for the project at http://parkplanning.nps.gov/cuyahogatrailplan From the project site, click
document list to obtain access to the final documents.
A limited number of hard copies or a CD of the FEIS are available. Requests should be made to

Following 30 day no-action period, beginning on May 3, 2013 of the Final Trail Management Plan and EIS, a Record of Decision (ROD) will be signed by the NPS regional director, which documents the selection of the Preferred Alternative and when implementation can officially begin. The NPS intends to
issue a Record of Decision in summer of 2013. All projects will be contingent on funding availability.
The National Park Service would like to thank all of those who participated in the planning process for this plan and we look forward to your continued expertise and involvement for its implementation in the coming years.

Hidden Story Hike

Test Your Skills On 2-Wheels With Cleveland Metroparks "Mountain Bike Race Series"
See how you stack up to other area riders and challenge yourself with the new Cleveland Metroparks "Mountain Bike Race Series" this June.
In this off-road time trial, racers (ages 14 and up) will complete one lap on marked single track at the new Royalview Trail in Mill Stream Run Reservation.
Classes will be broken into men, women, beginners, advanced, and youth. The youth and beginner women's course will be around 5 miles while the other course will be around 7 miles (actual mileage subject to change).
The Mountain Bike Race Series is on Tuesday nights in June: June 4, 6 - 9 p.m.
June 11, 6 - 9 p.m.
June 18, 6 - 9 p.m.
June 25, 6 - 9 p.m. (rain date)
Registration is from 6 - 6:25 p.m. and races start at 6:30 p.m.
Racers can choose to race in one or all 3 races. They must compete in at least 2 races to qualify for awards. If participants compete in all 3 races, the best 2 times will be used. Awards will be based on racers' top 2 times.
Registration is $20 per race for all participants who sign-up by May 28. Late registration (after May 28) or same-day registration is $30 per race.
Races are weather permitting. All riders must wear helmets.
